On the stronger side of 400 horsepower, inching close to 500, is the AMG variation of the C-class. A 6.2 litre V8, high-revving but still torquey, competes against BMW's high-strung 4.0L bent eight and Audi's rumbling - but still screamtastic - 4.2L V8. The C's 8-cylinder may be bigger, but AMG's engines push around a notoriously stodgier car.
